resolved The Ugly Barnacle Western Animation
Since The Ugly Barnacle page is based on a joke from SpongeBob SquarePants, should it be in the Just for Fun namespace?
resolved TearJerker on Spongebob Western Animation
TearJerker.Sponge Bob Square Pants currently has a meta section, when Tear Jerker is No Real Life Examples, Please!. I previously removed real life examples from the page, but these seem to be added by different people than the original posts.
resolved recap page not being made Western Animation
I've been working on making recap pages for episodes of The Emperor's New School. However, when I make one for The Emperors New School S 1 E 20 The Yzma The Stole Kuzcoween Monster Masquerade, it doesn't appear even after I hit save. the link becomes blue on the recap home, but the page itself says the article doesn't exist. Anybody else having this problem?
resolved I'm not sure about these edits. Western Animation
So on Star Wars: The Clone Wars Tempest Fury has added some edits I'm not sure about. They look like they're trying to make the Jedi Council & Order look better retroactively. Can I get a vote on whether to keep these edits or cut them?
resolved Should we add a page for the Neverending Story cartoon? Western Animation
Whilst the Neverending Story is best known for its original novel format and the 80s film adaptation, there was a late 90s/early 2000s animated series called, simply "The Neverending Story" - although one source I've found names it "The Neverending Story: The Animated Adventures of Bastian Balthazar Bux". As the question title asks, should we add a The Never Ending Story page to cover tropes unique to the animaed depiction of Fantastia?
resolved Expy subtrope character limit Question Western Animation
I know that Expy is limited to only be of one character. My question is does this limit also apply to expy subtropes, mainly the more specific subtropes like Superman Substitute and Spider-Man Send-Up.
A good example would be Western Animation/Invincible, where the titular character has a mixture of both tropes. Although hes more Superboy than Superman, he is still a Flying Brick with an origin as a human/alien hyrbid and The Paragon characteristics. But he also has similarities to Spidey, in having secret identity problems specifically romance problems, juggling hero life and normal teenage life, as well as the whole With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility.
So is there is a limit to the subtropes similar to the main Expy trope and if yes then which trope would take priority in an example like this?
Edited by Nejiiuynresolved Inconsistent examples Western Animation
I'm concerned about some of the edits on Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return by Sovs. Some examples are written correctly, while others have words and trope names written in all lowercase, insufficient context, and a few spelling and grammar issues. What is the best way to handle this?
Edited by DrNoPumaresolved recap index problem Western Animation
I have been trying to fix the indexing problem regarding the recap pages for The Emperor's New School. No matter what I do though, the recap doesn't show up on the index list for the episodes, despite the index detail being on the page. It seems to only be happening for this recap too for some reason. What could be going wrong?
resolved Does Total Drama need a short term cleanup? Western Animation
I notice the Total Drama pages often get packed up with shoehorns (so much misuse of counterpart tropes), rumors-as-fact (i.e. "X was intended to be the main antagonist but it got cut short"), and generally dubious info. I'd like some help cleaning it up cuz I want more input from other fans beyond my social circle and personal experience.
As much as I worry about my shifting interests, I do think having a short term cleanup would be beneficial because there's so many character subpages.
resolved Questionable Edit removal from Recap for Rick and Morty Western Animation
On December 18th, 2022, I added a "The Reason You Suck" Speech entry for the Rick and Morty episode "Ricktional Mortpoons Rickmas Mortcation".
- "The Reason You Suck" Speech: When Rick tries to leave after making the driller once Morty makes clear he doesn't want Rick coming with him to get the Lightsaber, Morty gets pissed at the idea Rick is acting like Morty betrayed him and not the other way around. Rick, thoroughly done with listening to Morty and wanting to just go back to hunting down Rick Prime, delivers a quick but succinct tear down of Morty, both for the events of the last episode, and his general treatment of Rick overall the last few seasons, with Morty treating him like shit despite Rick bothering to open up to him. Morty himself can only wince and look upset while he's listening up until Curtis reassures him he won't kill his family.
Rick: You wanna know why I replaced myself in the beginning of that stupid Knights of the Sun thing? I said don't take the fucking sword and you were like "whatever" like I'm our neighbor Gene or David Arquette or something. You called me boring. I've become dog shit to you. That's what happens when you let people in and they stop respecting you, they touch your shit, they screw things up, they kill your fucking family. Go ahead. Trust [Curtis]. You're going to learn the same fucking thing.
- 1. It's not presented as the way the edit reason states, namely since Rick had been keeping Morty out of his hunt for Rick Prime rather than forcing him to help, and Morty was acting like Rick was entirely at fault for not being honest. While an argument can be made for Unintentionally Unsympathetic, the fact of the matter is that it's not presented in the manner the edit reason suggests.
- 2. "The Reason You Suck" Speech is not a YMMV trope, meaning even if Mantyf does not see it as a speech but more a rant from an abuser, the trope itself is what matters. So if the entry is an actual case of "The Reason You Suck" Speech as presented in the show itself, removing it based on an interpretation feels like a mistake.
resolved Repeated speculation on character's voice actor Western Animation
This edit is the second time that someone (a different person from last time, so it's not edit warring) added Jeannie Elias as the voice actress for the "Woman from Commercial" on Characters. The Super Mario Bros. Movie. While it's certainly possible, it's only speculation as far as I know (see God Never Said That on the Trivia page) and shouldn't be stated as fact. But since I removed it last time, I cannot remove it again without edit warring.
Should something be done to prevent this from being re-added, at least until there's official confirmation? For example, a commented-out notice in the character folder?
resolved Latin Translation help? Western Animation
Is there a forum or something where I could go to get help with translation. I found a Pretentious Latin Motto in the trailer for WesternAnimation.Tiny Toons Looniversity and I need help finding the gag: “Factum et Dictum Nostrum”.
resolved Trivia relevancy on Voltron: Legendary Defender Western Animation
Hello,
I was doing a Wiki Walk and i found this trivia about Voltron: Legendary Defender:
-"The Klance (Keith/Lance) fanfiction "Dirty Laundry" had the second most kudos of all fanfiction on Archive of Our Own. (It is second only to a Groot parody fic.)"
I was wondering about the relevancy of this information and if it should be removed since it's not really about the show itself and seem oddly specific to me.
What are your thoughts on this?
resolved A potential TV Tropes page for some Brazilian animated series' Western Animation
As a fan of Brazilian and South American animation as a whole, I have suggested that we should create pages for shows from that country that don't have one, largely due to not being well known outside of their home countries (Ba Da Bean being the closest exception) and their wikis being either non-existent or small. From a list from most likely to least likely:
- Zuzubaland (also known as Zuzubalandia in Brazil): An animated Continuity Reboot of the 1998 Puppet Show of the same name and based on the 1997 book Jujubalandia; created by Mariana Caltabiano. The show centers around Zuzu and friends living in Zuzubaland, a kingdom made up of various types of food (namely cand) and is ruled by King Appetite. The show mostly centers around Random Event Plots caused by either Zuzu, her friends, or the series' antagonists, The Green Witch and Garfedia. The show has an Official website, its own YouTube in both Portugal and English, an English dub by Bang Zoom! Entertainment and a huge Cash-Cow Franchise in Brazil right next to Monica's Gang.
- Ba Da Bean: An animated series by Michael Hack that centers around a bean sprout planted in a paper cup as he ventures into the world of art. It has its own English dub, also by Bang Zoom! Entertainment, that stars Stephanie Panisello as the title character, Suzie Yeung as Cosa, Amber May as Kami and Dino Andrade as York. Stephanie Panisello is known for her role as Claire Redfield in the Resident Evil series; Suzie Yeung and Amber May are known for their roles Genshin Impact as Eula and Dehya respectively, and Dino Andrade is known for his roles in World of Warcraft as well as playing the title character on the aforementioned Zuzubaland.
- Vivi (also known as Vivi Viravento in Brazil): An animated series created by Alê Abreu, who is a well-known Brazilian filmmaker, based on the 2009 short film of the same name. It stars Vivi, her backpack Mochilao and her flashlight Lanterninha as they travel all around the world to find the world of Viravento (or "Whirlyland" according to the Qubo dub). Speaking of Qubo, the show once aired there during the channel's life span note albeit at 5:30 am where most kids were still sleeping, and is available on Tubi with an English dub, though information on said dub is unknown. The show is very obscure even in its home country.
- Underdogs United (also known as Metegol: Underdogs United in Argentina): An animated series created by the award-winning Juan José Campanella and is based off of the 2013 Metegol film. It's a Flash-animated Denser and Wackier Edutainment Show that takes a few ques from anime (such as the Super-Deformed chibi sprites); Capi, Beto and Loco (now named Kiko) are the main characters in this series alongside Canon Foreigners Emma and Gigi. It having a world dedicated to all sports besides foosball note The Spanish equivalent to soccer, appropriately titled Sportsville, while our heroes try to stop the Big Bad Waldoberto Worst whose goal is to get ride of all of the sports so he can be all alone (basically the Argentina equivalent to Robbie Rotten). Unfortunately, information of the series is hard to come by in no small part of it being unavailable to watch legally outside of a VPN, a lack of an IMDb page and that most sources of the Metegol don't even mention it at all. Even the English dub is borderline lost media since no-one knows who the ENG VAs are, who directed the dub, and what studio recorded the dub. It's fanbase is also small due to its divisive reception by Metegol fans who dislike it for having nothing to do with it's source material beyond the name and having three of the Foosball players supporting characters as the main protagonists.
What do you guys think of these shows and do you want them to have their own pages on This Very Wiki. Comment down below to see your answers.
Update: Ok so apparently, someone has made an IMDb page for Underdogs United. I'm gonna assume this page was made recently since it looks like it was left as a first draft.
August 11, 2023 Update: I changed the Ba Da Bean English dub playlist to El Lazor (who uploaded all of the dub episodes) because the original playlist was taken down for unknown reasons (possibly to avoid getting Screwed by WBD)
Edited by ToonAbbyresolved Magnificent Bastard/Kim Possible Western Animation
Hi. So I was planning a proposal for Evil Ron from Kim Possible when I noticed somebody added him to the ymmv page. As such, I figured I would check out their proposal, yet I couldn't find it. I figured they would have put what they wrote in the drafts Sandbox as well. History didn't give results. Concerned, I checked the page where Disney MBs are placed. He wasn't there.
Now I have to ask. Was Evil Ron approved by the thread, or did somebody just add him to the ymmv KP page without proposing him?
Edited by Zerukinresolved Content Leak troping - "Scooby-Doo! And Krypto, Too!" Western Animation
Bringing this over from the Unreleased Work Page Cleanup Thread, as that's gone quiet.
Scooby-Doo! and Krypto, Too! is scheduled for release on September 26th. A trailer's been released, but the entire film has also, reportedly, been leaked.
The works page currently tropes the whole film and is clearly written by someone who either knows exactly what happens (via leak or inside information), or is inventing examples. The former seems more likely.
Most of these examples seem to have been added by Court Dogs, who originally created the page. None of the examples cite pre-release sources, so they're not in line with Creating a Work Page for an Upcoming Work.
Ariel Lightning has already commented out a bunch of tropes that clearly aren't from the trailer (ending tropes, "halfway through the movie" x happens etc.), only for Readerbug 819 to delete the markup and reinstate them all.
Unreleased notifier sent to CourtDogs, Ignored Comment notifier sent to Readerbug819.
At this point I'm inclined to comment out every example without a source - so probably all of them (with the usual stub/cutlist consequences if sources aren't added) - but for things that are clearly written from leaks (ending tropes etc.), should we just cut them entirely?
We can always add new versions once it's released but (a bit like the ban evader rules) it feels wrong to me to 'reward' this sort of content leak troping by letting those examples remain on the site as currently written.

Edited by Mrph1resolved Questionable sentence. Western Animation
In Characters.Adventure Time Multiverse, troper Kuroikiba 7 added this entry on Hunter's page (suspect sentence is bolded)
- Vocal Dissonance: In contrast to his overall hunkish looks and build, he has a rather feminine voice. This is due to his voice actor, Vico Ortiz, being a biologically female non-binary person.
This very wrong on so many levels and feel very transphobic by stating a trans person's assigned gender at birth.
There are few issues with their edit (like trope slashing) but this one is massive red flag to me.
resolved Fixing image in Strawberry Shortcake Characters page Western Animation
So, around a week ago, I began adding some images for the Strawberry Shortcake characters page, since some of the characters had no images at all or ones that represented their current incarnations, but when I previewed, I noticed that the images for Angel Cake broke and I cannot figure out how to fix it. No other images seem to be suffering the same issue, which makes it more baffling.
I've tried replacing the image, and copy-pasting the original image source code (or whatever it's called here), but nothing's working. Would someone here mind taking a look and seeing what's wrong?

resolved Regarding My Little Pony: Rainbow Roadtrip Western Animation
Somebody written an example about My Little Pony: Rainbow Roadtrip is banned in some Western European countries, such as France, Germany and Italy on Banned in China page, but I checked for proof online and found nothing. I think that the special wasn't banned, just weren't aired on those countries (as of 2023). It should be on No Export for You instead. Here's my example for the page:
- For an unknown reason, My Little Pony: Rainbow Roadtrip wasn't aired in some western European countries, such as France, Germany and Italy.
For the Trivia page for Rainbow Roadtrip page:
- No Export for You: For an unknown reason, the special wasn't aired in some western European countries, such as France, Germany and Italy.
What did you guys think?
MagicallyMe keeps on removing a certain example on the Protagonist-Centered Morality page for the show My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. I really don't want to start an edit war, so I came her first.
Here's the example that keeps getting deleted
